Between a table of jocks throwing around a football and a table of girls selling cupcakes at Malcolm X Plaza, racks of clothing draw in curious eyes of passers-by. Alternating between Wednesdays and Thursdays every week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., FNA hosts Restyled SF, a campus-wide thrift shop featuring secondhand clothing and accessories collected from students.
In addition to providing students with trendy and vintage clothing, FNA also hopes to contribute to the larger trend of eco-friendly fashion. “We wanted to bring something to campus which students can benefit from that also incorporates the sustainability concept,” Fundraising Chair Assistant Maribel Cortez said. “Many of our donations could have ended up in land fills, but instead has found new life and will serve as a new garment for one of our customers.”
With the recent launch of SFSU’s little swap-shop this 2011 fall, the selection is vastly diverse, with affordable prices:
(all under $10)
Basic tanks: $3
Accessories: $2 each or 3 for $5
Profits go toward upcoming FNA events, such as our winter fashion show Impressions hosted on December 9th at Jack Adams Hall.
If you have any general questions or comments on items to donate, contact Fundraising Chair Andrea Rocha directly at email@example.com.
Lastly, feel free to drop by Burk Hall 410 on Mondays for FNA meetings at 12:15pm for any further inquires.
